Recommendations from the National Worker Safety and Health Summit, Nov. 7, 2009
On Nov. 7, 2009, 160 worker safety and health advocates gathered in Philadelphia for a one day Summit to develop common priorities and strategies for national policy changes that would make our nation's workplaces safer. The result of these discussions was a set of recommendations covering several themes: Ergonomics, Family Rights, Farmworkers, Green Jobs Health and Safety, Immigrant Workers, OSHA Reform/the Protecting America's Workers Act , Toxic Chemicals, and
Worker Education and Training. The recommendations document is currently being finalized and will be available on this site shortly.
Protecting Workers on the Job--Priorities for Federal Action: The National COSH and the Occupational Safety and Health section of the American Public Health Association developed this agenda for action by the new Obama Administration, Congress, OSHA , and other federal worker protection agencies.
